Description
Español: Los pellerics tienen su origen en la Edad Media y eran la muestra de que el lugar tenía autonomía administrativa y jurisprudencia penal. El pelleric (picota en castellano) era un lugar de escarnio público donde los ladrones con robos menores o malhechores recibían las burlas de los vecinos. Se trata de una piedra grande donde se ataba a los condenados rodeando su cuello con un collar de hierro (pelleric), unido a la piedra por una cadena, quedando expuestos a la burla y humillación de la gente del pueblo. Casi siempre, sobre el condenado, o a su lado, se colocaba un escrito que indicaba el delito que había cometido.
