Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Renaissance Tomb (200 BC – 200 AD). The elegant façade you see here is crowned by a gable that has three funerary urns and is framed by Nabatean engaged pilasters. The interior part of this tomb was excavated in 2003 and 14 graves were found cut into the floor. All the graves had been looted, most probably during the medieval period, but some remains were found, including bones, pottery and coins. Two of the graves contained inscribed tombstones, one reads “Taymu son of Wahabillahy”. Evidence indicates that the Renaissance Tomb may have been constructed towards the third quarter of the first century AD. Text from notice on site.
