I went to the optometrist for the first time in at least two years. I'd been wearing my contacts for way longer than intended. And my glasses are an even older prescription, so I decided it was probably about time to go. After the usual rigmarole, the doctor and his intern brought in the head honcho, who apparently didn't believe that my prescription had changed by more than one full dioptre. Once she satisfied herself that it was right, she told me that although the contacts I had were probably state-of-the-art when I got them, there were some awesome new technologies on the market that would allow my eyes to breathe better. I figure "hey, this is what medical insurance is for" and told her to give me the ultra-platinum lenses. They didn't fit me right. So she got me the hyper-platinum lenses instead. After two days with them, I'm very happy. |
