Pica de Norteamérica

Su tamaño de largo es entre los 14 y 18,5 centímetros no tiene cola, su peso está entre 125-175 gramos. Es una especie de mamífero, su nombre científico es Ochotona Princeps y están ubicadas al Sudoeste de Canadá y Oeste de EE.UU. Son de diferentes tonos de marrón, con orejas oscuras, las picas solitarias emiten sonidos similares a los silbidos para defender sus territorios que frecuentan dependiendo su género, por medio del área que está fragmentada entre hembras y machos. Un territorio usual para las picas es equivalente a 600 metros cuadrados, con un área de forraje y un pequeño escondrijo en la madriguera. Su peso está entre 125-175 gramos. No son sociables y su unidad social es individual. Finalizando verano cada pica junta suficientes hierbas y follaje para tener una despensa en temporada fría.
