Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_67783_20190926_155622.jpg Notes: בית הכנסת זוהה על ידי צ39ארלס וילסון בשנת 1869. השריד העיקרי מן העיר הקדומה הן חורבות בית כנסת שבנוי כולו אבני בזלת. עיטורי האבן המדויקים מעידים על יוצריהם שהיו אמני סיתות ממדרגה ראשונה משום שקשיותה של הבזלת מחייבת דיוק מוחלט בעבודה ושגיאה שנעשתה אין אפשרות לתקנה. בית הכנסת הזה הבנוי מאבני המקום הייחודיות מתבלט לעומת זה של כפר נחום הבנוי אבן לבנה שאינה מצויה באזור. בית הכנסת הוקם כנראה בתחילת הספירה ועמד על תילו עד המאה השביעית לספירה. בית הכנסת היה במרכזה של העיר והיה בנוי בזלת ויקיפדיה
