Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_67947_4.jpg Notes: שכונת מולדת בדרום מזרח חולון הוקמה בשנת 1934 עquotי שמונה משפחות יוצאי תימן. בתי השכונה ניבנו בצורה מפוזרת על החולות ללא תכנון. הריחוק משכונות חולון האחרות וקשיי הפרנסה היקשו על החיים בשכונה ועל התפתחותה.הכביש לשכונה נסלל מבטון בשנת 1936. בימי מאורעות הדמים בשנים 1936 - 1939 סבלה השכונה מהתקפות ירי בלתי פוסק. על גבעה סמוכה נבנה מגדל המים ב1936. היה בו סליק נשק של הquotהגנהquot. במלחמת העצמאות היה עמדת איתות ותצפית. quotדרך הביטחוןquot מתל אביב למושבות הדרום וירושלים ב1948 עברה סמוך. מאתר עיריית חולון
