Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_68312_20181221_084735.jpg Notes: כנסיית יוחנן בהרים היא כנסייה נוצרית קתולית השוכנת במעלה הגבעה בצפונה של שכונת עין כרם שבירושלים. הכנסייה מכונה quotיוחנן בהריםquot על מנת להבדילה מquotמנזר יוחנן במדברquot ונקראת על שמו של יוחנן המטביל אשר על פי המסורת הנוצרית נולד במבנה שהיה ממוקם במקום בו נבנתה הכנסייה.במאה ה-17 התגוררו הנזירים במבנה קטן ובו שלושה תאים ומחסן. עם הזמן הם הצליחו לרכוש אדמה ובתים סמוכים והחלו להרחיב את מבנה המגורים תוך הוספת אולם שינה וחדר אוכל. בשנת 1691 הוקף המנזר בחומה שחלקה הצפוני קיים עד היום ויקיפדיה
