Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_68913_DSC01426.JPG Notes: כפר שמריהו נוסד ב-20 במאי 1937 כיישוב חקלאי על ידי חברת רסקו עבור עולים מגרמניה ונקרא quotכפר שמריהו -על שם שמריהו לויןquot. היישוב הוקם על שטח של 600 דונם שהחברה רכשה ויועד להקמת 40 משקים מלאים שלושים משקי עזר ועשרים מגרשים לשיכונים. עוד לפני ההקמה הכינה החברה כביש פנימי קדחה באר והחלה בבניית המשקים. החברה הדגישה את המרחק הקצר לתל אביב אשר לאחר סלילת הכביש החדש יהיה 17 קילומטר בלבד בסוף שנת 1938 היו במקום כ-60 משפחות והשפה השלטת הייתה גרמנית. חיי התרבות התרכזו סביב בית הכנסת ויקיפדיה
