Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_71145_1.jpeg Notes: רבן גמליאל היה תַנָא בן הדור השני לחורבן. בכתובת בפנים הבניין נכתב שהבניין נבנה בשנת 1274 בפקודת הסולטאן בייברס לכבודו של אבו הורירה חבר קרוב של מוחמד. אבו הורירה לא קבור במקום אלא במדינה שבערב הסעודית. האם רבן גמליאל קבור במקום מרבית הארכיאולוגים וההיסטוריונים יהססו לאשר מסורת זו. בתלמוד הבבלי נכתב quotקבר שאולה הייתה לרבן גמליאל ביבנהquot. אין מיקום מדויק של הקבר. הארכיאולוגים חושדים בעדות על מיקום קבר שהופיעה 1100 שנים לאחר מותו. המסורת רואה בעדויות אלה הוכחה לאמיתות המסורת.
