Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_72783_IMG_20201027_121100jpg Notes: מחנות המעצר באזור לטרון הוקמו על ידי הבריטים בתחילת מלחמת העולם השנייה ושימשו לכליאת שבויי מלחמה גרמנים ואיטלקים במהלך 19421948שימשו המחנות גם לכליאת תושבי ארץ ישראל יהודים וערבים אחד המחנות היה בשדה עquotי קיבוץ נחשון ב1943 ברחו מהמחנה בבריחה נועזת 20 אנשי לחquotי בשנת 1944 הוגלו מהמחנה 251 אנשי אצquotל ולחquotי למחנות מעצר באפריקה באפריל 1948 פונו האסירים היהודים למחנה המעצר בעתלית ובעקבות כך נהרס המחנה על ידי אסירים ערבים שברחו מהמקום מהמחנה נותר רק המבנה הזה אשר שימש כעמדת השער למחנה
