Summary

[edit]
Description "One of Dr. Solomon's responsibilities was to escort the visiting Chinese table tennis team around the United States in April 1971 - a trip seen as an important step in reciprocal trust-building. He continued to organize cultural and academic exchanges with the Chinese until leaving the National Security Council in 1976." Guests at the memorial service were invited to take home a ping-pong ball marked with the USIP seal in remembrance of Dr. Solomon.
