| Description |
English: Having failed to resolve the problems that were faced by the current bus system in Kampala which is dominated by the Pioneer Buses company and Awakula Ennume bus company, the powers that govern have now embarked on a Sh600b greater Kampala public bus transport project set to start late 2020 by Tondeka Metro Buses who hope to operate over 900 buses.
Problems that have been faced by the current bus system are and remain; -Lack of proper designated Buses terminals. -Failure by KCCA to provide guarantees on route charts to buses companies and limiting public taxis in an already congested city. -The URA Taxation polices that extort buses operators. -Providing no express lanes for buses; buses end up stuck in traffic for hours cutting the number of returns that could be made per day. -Failure for authorities to unite taxi unions with the bus operators to create a city link system.
