Description
Español: MADAME JEANNE PITÔT (Orthez, 1872 - Punta del Este, 1953).

Pionera de Punta del Este, Uruguay, fue la primera empresaria hotelera y gastronómica del balneario. Procedente de Orthez, Francia, se estableció en el lugar junto a su esposo Emile Pitôt, a fines del siglo XIX. Fundó establecimientos referentes de la región como los hoteles "British House" y "Biarritz" así como la confitería "La Cigale".

Condecorada por el Gral. Charles De Gaulle en 1946.
