Description
English: Plate 18 Photograph album of German and Austrian scientists. Admirers of Darwin; Karl Kuffner, Dioszegh/Ungarn (Hungary)
Baron Karl Kuffner in Diószeg. Karl KUFFNER came to Diószeg in 1869 as a 22-year-old young man. Under his management, his father’s factory became the most economical sugar factory in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The Kuffner family completely changed the face of the town. A castle was built for them, to which later a gallery was attached.[1]
