| Description |
English: Coat of arms in the manor house of Torrebarri in Plentzia (Vizcaya, Basque country). The Lords of Butrón, main lineage of the region, built a manor house in the village with military character, which was renewed in 1603, date in which the coat of arms we can see today was placed. The current building is the result of a transformation of the tower to be adapted as residential housing, keeping some stylistic and decorative elements.
The beautiful coat of arms of the Múgica-Butrón lineage has an engraved inscription in Basque, with the date of 1603 and one of the earliest preserved epigraphic inscriptions in this language: "Muxica Areriocaz Agica / Butroe Celangoada Oroç / Daquie Garaia Na Go / Eria Gordeago" that is to say: "Múgica biting its enemies / Butrón everyone knows how it is / winner I am / people be in guard."
Español: Escudo de armas en la casa-torre de Torrebarri en Plentzia (Vizcaya, País Vasco). Los Señores de Butrón, principal linaje de la comarca, levantaron en la villa una Casa-Torre de carácter militar, que fue renovada en 1603, fecha en que se colocó el escudo que hoy podemos contemplar. El edificio actual es fruto de una transformación de la Torre, para adaptarla como vivienda residencial, manteniendo algunos elementos estilísticos y decorativos.
El hermoso escudo de armas del linaje Múgica-Butrón tiene grabada una inscripción en euskera, con la fecha de 1603 y una de las inscripciones epigráficas más antiguas que se conserva en esta lengua: "Muxica Areriocaz Agica / Butroe Celangoada Oroç / Daquie Garaia Na Go / Eria Gordeago" Que viene a decir: "Múgica a dentelladas con los enemigos / Butrón como es, todos lo saben / vencedor estoy (o soy) / Pueblo estate en guardia." |
