| Description |
English: In the case of a warm front moving over cold air below freezing temperature by a cold injection at the surface, snow falling from above will melt in a layer above freezing temperature but freeze on objects at the surface to ginve freezing rain if the cold layer is shallow. It will give ice pellet if the layer is thick.
Français : Type de précipitation retrouvées à l'approche d'un front chaud lorsqu'on a une injection d'air sous zéro près de la surface. La neige produite en altitude fond dans l'air doux qui s'avance avec le front mais regèle à la surface pour donner de la pluie verglaçante si la couche froide est mince et du grésil si elle est épaisse. |
