Description
Français : La Pointe du Hoc située entre Utah Beach and Omaha Beach avait été fortifiée par les Allemands et équipée d'artillerie lourde. Le 2e bataillon de Rangers américain a réussi à s'emparer du site, subissant de lourdes pertes, pour préparer le débarquement des alliés en Normandie le 6 juin 1944.
English: Pointe du Hoc, between Utah Beach and Omaha Beach had been fortified by the Germans and was supposed to be equipped with heavy artillery.The 2nd Battalion of the US Rangers managed to take control of the site with heavy losses,.to prepare the allied disembarkation in Normandy June 6, 1944.
