Description

Die Polizeistation in Münster in der Gutenbergstraße, im Dritten Reich Gestapo-Leitstelle, heute ein Flüchtlingsheim, Adresse: Gutenbergstraße 17 – 18, 48145 Münster Bauzeit: 1911-1912 Archtitekt: Alfred Hensen (Ursprüngliche) Nutzung: Steinbruchsberufsgenossenschaft Denkmal seit: 1984 Nutzfläche in m²: ca. 1.400 m² Architekturstil: Neobarock

Besonders beachtenswert: Das dreistöckige Gebäude ist ein seltenes Beispiel zeitgenössischer Architektur vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg. Von den Fundamenten bis zum Dach ist es aus Stahlbeton ausgeführt. Als Baumaterial war Stahlbeton zwar seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts bekannt. Für Münster war diese Bauweise 1911 allerdings noch außergewöhnlich. Neuartig ist auch die Dachform: Sie ähnelt einem zweistufigen Mansarddach, hat jedoch anstelle der Neigung ein terrassenförmiges Dach und lotrechte Seitenwände
