| Description |
English: Built in the early 20th Century, this Beaux Arts-style building was constructed for the Pomeroy National Bank. The building features a red brick facade, cornice with modillions, limestone trim, sculptural reliefs of festoons, rusticated brick pillars and pilasters at the corners and edges of the street-facing facades, and a large arched bay on the front facade with a tripartite window on the second floor, a limestone spandrel with the words “Pomeroy National Bank” emblazoned on it, and a modernized storefront on the first floor. The building is a contributing structure in the Pomeroy Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and today houses a branch of Peoples Bank. |
