Description
Français : Gravure de 1783 du Pont-Neuf de Toulouse par P-G Berthault reprenant des dessins établis par Pierre Souffron après 1643. La gravure montre l'arc de triomphe démoli en 1860 pour faire plus de place à la circulation. Le décor sculpté montrait le roi Louis XIII à cheval. Le document montre également les "masques de lion" qui devaient orner les ouvertures dans les piles, côté aval, jamais sculptés.
English: Engraving of 1783 of the Pont-Neuf de Toulouse by P-G Berthault based on drawings made by Pierre Souffron after 1643. The engraving shows the triumphal arch demolished in 1860 to facilitate the traffic. The sculpted decoration showed King Louis XIII on horseback. The document also shows the "lion masks" that were to decorate the openings in the piers, downstream side, never carved.
