| Description |
Français : Pont minier supportant une voie ferrée construit en 1856 pour permettre l'évacuation du charbon des puits de la concession Planèze et Combérigol jusqu'à la vallée du Gier. Ce pont faisait partie d'un embranchement de voie ferrée reliant les puits à la ligne Lyon-Saint-Etienne. Mesurant 8 m de haut et 13 m de long, sa structure s'appuie sur deux culées de grès houiller. Il était composé d'une charpente en bois de chêne : deux arcs enjambent la rivière, chaque arc était constitué de deux poutres cintrées et d'une sablière, le tout moisé et boulonné. Le pont de Chavillon était le seul vestige conservé en France d'un pont minier en bois. Ecroulé, les pièces de bois totalement dégradées, et donc définitivement détruit pour sa partie la plus intéressante, le pont de Chavillon a été radié de l'inscription au titre des monuments historiques. |
