Description
English: Nandi or the Colossal Bull located at Chamundi Hill,Mysore is considered to be one of the largest statues of Nandi in India, measuring about 15 ft in height and 24 ft in width.The Idol was carved out of a single boulder during the reign of Dodda Devaraja Odeyar who ruled from 1659 to 1673 and is situated on the 800th step of the Chamundi hill.This image was taken during the month of Ashada which is considered inauspicious.The idol is decorated with colourful flowers and special pujas are performed during this month
