PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks. It is a square tapered tower, stands 6.5 m (21.25 ft) tall and was built in 1917. It has no lantern gallery. Light: was yellow fixed Focal Height: 15.2 m (49.75 ft) It was taken out of service with the opening of the Confederation Bridge. The Confederation Bridge crosses the Northumberland Strait from New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island. Before its official naming, Prince Edward Islanders often referred to the bridge as the "Fixed Link". Construction took place from October 1993 to May 1997 and cost $1.3 billion Canadian. The 12.9-kilometre (8 mi) bridge opened on May 31, 1997. |
