Summary[edit]

Description
English: Yesterday, Speaker Ryan accepted the newest addition into the House's Portrait Collection, and for him, it was personal. Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX) has served and sacrificed a lot in his life: a Prisoner of War, Interim Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, and hero to Speaker Ryan (along with so many others). Although Rep. Johnson will be retiring at the end of this term, his legacy of service will continue to serve as examples for all who know him and look upon his portrait, which will soon find its permanent home in the Sam Johnson Room in the Rayburn House Office Building.
