Description
English: Foto genomen te Essen Essendonk 3 en ons bezorgd door Smout Rudi --- Postkaart Oude Pastorij met noordelijke vleugel, toren en poortgebouw. Vanaf 21 mei, en dit drie weken lang, vindt in het kader van Essen-850 nabij de Oude Pastorij het kunstenaarssymposium plaats. Elke dag van 10 tot 20u kan je er een kijkje gaan nemen, of nog beter, er fotootjes van maken en opladen op Essen in beeld. Door een bominslag op 22 oktober 1944 werd dit poortgebouw en een deel van de noordelijke vleugel vernield. In 1956 kwam de Oude Pastorij weer in handen van de gemeente. Ga eens een kijkje nemen, geef je ogen de kost, kijk naar de kunstwerken in wording, en goed om weten...in deze Oude Pastorij werden 2 pastoors vermoord! Foto familie Deckers --- Eigendom van Essen in Beeld (Stichting Heidebloempje, Heemkundige Kring, Cultuurraad).
