فارسی: عملیات مقدماتی آزادسازی موصل با نام فتح از سمت جاده قیاره به موصل آغاز و بیش از پانزده کیلومتر از این جاده و روستاهای حاشیه ای آن آزاد شد. در عملیات «نبرد موصل»، نیروهای ارتش، نیروهای یگان مبارزه با تروریسم، پلیس فدرال، الحشد الشعبی، پلیس استان نینوی و برخی نیروهای محلی از جمله الحشد الوطنی از سمت جنوب و منطقه القیاره، عملیات را آغاز کردند که نیروهای پیشمرگه نیز از سمت شرق (از ۲۵ کیلومتری موصل) آزادسازی مناطق را پیش می‌برند. شهر موصل مرکز استان نینوی به عنوان سومین شهر بزرگ عراق پس از بغداد و بصره محسوب می‌شود. استان نینوی با ۳۲ شهر بزرگ و کوچک پس از استان الانبار دومین استان بزرگ عراق است. |
