Summary
[edit]DescriptionPresidential Palace (9651323279).jpg |
Prezidentūra or the Presidential Palace in the heart of old town Vilnius is the official residence of the President of Lithuania. The palace traces its roots back to the 14th century when a much smaller building was constructed at this location for the first Bishop of Vilnius. Its Classical appearance came much later. The building was the home of the city's leading Catholic clergy until the end of the 18th century. In 1997 the palace became the official seat of the President of Lithuania, the presidential flag can be seen flying over the building whenever the President is in Vilnius - se he was obviously there on this occasion. |
