Deutsch: Vorderseite: WILHELM KOENIG - AUGUSTA KOENIGIN V PREUSSEN. Brustbilder Wilhelms I. und seiner Gemahlin Augusta im Krönungsornat nach rechts.

Rückseite: SUUM - CUIQUE - KROENUNGS-THALER 1861. Gekrönter preußischer Adler, auf der Brust FR, in den Fängen Zepter und Reichsapfel. Um den Adler abwechselnd je zweimal die Initialen W und R sowie A und R.

Kommentar: Seit 1701 erste (und letzte) Gedenkmünze auf eine preußische Königskrönung. Am 18. Oktober 1861 wurden Wilhelm I. und seine Gemahlin Augusta in Königsberg gekrönt. Augusta von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, geboren 1811 in Weimar, gestorben 1890 in Berlin, war die Mutter von Kaiser Friedrich III. und von Luise, der Großherzogin von Baden und Großmutter von Wilhelm II. von Preußen. Die liberale Königin galt als Gegnerin des Kanzlers Bismarck und wurde von diesem ebenso gehasst. Als preußische Königin, die Kriege ablehnte, gründete sie 1864 den Vaterländischen Frauenverein, der sich vor allem um verwundete Soldaten kümmerte.
