| Description |
Nederlands: Prins Bernhardlaan 16, hoek Westerweg, gevangenis de Schutterswei in stadspark de Hout. Voorgevel en zijgevel. Rijksmonument. Gebouwd in 1884, naar een ontwerp van rijksbouwmeester ing. J.F. Metzelaar. Een hoofdgebouw met 26 cellen en 3 lokalen, in 1889 en 1891 uitgebreid met 76 cellen. In 1891 ook uitgebreid met 2 dienstwoningen. Voorheen het exercitieterrein van de schutterij. In 1882 kosteloos aangeboden aan het rijk, om er een gevangenis op te bouwen. In 2012 gaf het rijk de grond weer aan de gemeente. Tot 2012 een gevangenis. Anno 2018 zijn er plannen om het om te bouwen tot hotel. |
