Nederlands: Deze gravure, opgenomen in Antonius Sanderus' boek Flandria Illustrata (vol.1641), toont het Prinsenhof te Brugge vanuit het zuidoosten en is waarschijnlijk gebaseerd op een oudere bron. Dit beeldmateriaal is dus eigenlijk niet eigentijds. Het toont rechtsboven het Groenhuys (privé-residentie), links daarnaast de dubbele galerij van het Groenhuys (1446-1449), het badhuis (1441-1446) dat de afscheiding vormt tussen het Groenhuysdeel en het tweede open plein waar we enkele kinderen(?) een kaatsspel zien spelen. Rechtsonder het plein zien we de ommuurde tuin en centraal onder het plein het kapelcomplex. Grenzend aan het kapelcomplex zien we de ingang naar de grote zaal (veertiende eeuw), het appartement van de hertogin (1446-1448) en de toren (veertiende eeuw, verhoogd 1459-1459). Vertrekkend vanaf de toren loopt de grote galerij richting (1467) de Noordzandstraat. Aan deze straat zien we ook het ingangsgebouw met 2 wachters. |
