Also see 'Fontainebleau et l'estampe en France au XVIe siècle, iconographie et contradictions', Nemours 1985, cat. No.118. Various inscriptions in verses found on certain copies (also see Robert-Dumesnil IX p.73) give the meaning of the scene, which illustrates the fact that the pleasures of the world lead people to Hell faster than the wind blows or that a river runs.
