Nun zog der Kater aus, fing allerlei Wild, brachte es dem König und sagte: "Das schickt Euch der Graf von Carabas." Diesen Namen hatte er für seinen Herrn erdacht. -- Eines Tages machte der König mit der wunderschönen Prinzessin eine Spazierfahrt. Der Kater riet seinen Herrn, im Flusse zu baden. Als der König vorüberkam, rief der Kater: "Hilfe, Hilfe." Dem König erzählte er, daß Diebe seinem Herrn die Kleider gestohlen hätten, worauf der König dem Grafen von Carabas die schönsten Kleider schickte. = Now the cat went out, caught all kinds of game, brought it to the king and said: "The Count of Carabas sends this gift to you." He had thought up this name for his master. -- One day the king took his daughter the beautiful princess for a ride. The cat advised his master to bathe in the river. As the king passed by, the cat cried, "Help, help." He told the king that thieves had stolen his master's clothes, whereupon the king gave the most beautiful clothes to the Count of Carabas.
