Qu'Appelle Saskatchewan Presented to Citizens of Qu'Appelle to Commemorate serving as the seat of government and Capital of the Province of Saskatchewan on September 24, 1983 Grant Devine Premier of Saskatchewan Historically, Pelly was the territorial capital 1876–77. August 1877 saw the establishment of the capital at Telegraph Flat, later renamed Battleford. The territorial capital transferred to Pile-O-Bones, later renamed Regina, in 1883. In 1905, Regina became the capital of the province of Saskatchewan until en:September 23, en:1983 when Qu'Appelle became the capital for a day, returning the designation to Regina en:September 24, en:1983. |
