Description
Español: Réplica a menor escala de la pátera romana de Otañes, situada en Museo de Prehistoria y Arqueología de Cantabria (MUPAC). La pieza fotografiada es una réplica ya que la original, de oro y plata de unos 21 cm de diámetro, es propiedad privada de la familia Torre de Otañes, está custodiada en un banco y no se exhibe. La original, datada de entre los siglos I y IV d.C., fue descubierta en la cueva de Otañes hacia 1880, en Castro Urdiales (Cantabria, España).
English: Smaller scale replica of the Roman pátera de Otañes, located in the Museum of Prehistory and Archaeology of Cantabria (MUPAC). The photographed piece is a replica, as the original, made of gold and silver and measuring some 21 cm in diameter, is the private property of the Torre de Otañes family, is kept in a bank and is not on display. The original, dated to between the 1st and 4th centuries AD, was discovered in the cave of Otañes around 1880, in Castro Urdiales (Cantabria, Spain).
