Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Hyundai RB520L

Transit bus produced by Hyundai Motor Corporation from 1984~1990. This particular model is the first Hyundai transit bus to have a rear engine rear-wheel-drive layout. In order to meet the new regulation by the Seoul Metropolitan Government on transit buses, the bus had to be lowered by 20cm than previous front-engine buses and also allow safe operation as the attendant was removed. The chassis and engine were licensed from Mitsubishi using MP chassis and 6D16 7,545cc engine which produced 185PS. However, the skeleton semi-monocoque body is developed in house. This was possible as Hyundai already had licensed Mercedes-Benz O-303 express buses which enabled Hyundai to develop semi-monocoque body without Mitsubishi's help.

Hyundai RB520L
