Stamp of Romania; 1969; commemorative stamp of the issue "Frescos from Romanian Monasteries"; stamp is showing a fresco from the "Sucevita Monastery" in northeast Romania at the village Rădăuți (German name: "Radautz") at the banks of the river Sucevița River; The stamp motive shows the fresco painting "Saint Nicholas calming down the storm" from the "Church of the Resurrection of Christ" of this monastery.; mint stamp

The monastery was built in 1585 under the rule of the Princes Ieremia Movila, Gheorge Movila, and Simion Movila. Contemporary this monastery belongs to the Eastern Orthodox Church.
