Public domain According to the Romanian Law on Copyright and Neighboring Rights Law no. 8/1996 of March 14, 1996 with further amendments Chapter 3 Article 9 the following documents shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright:

Română: Descrierea stemei:

Stema comunei Prundu Bârgăului se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, împărţit în furcă de o filieră neagră.

În partea superioară, în câmp albastru, se află masivul muntos cu trei vârfuri, de argint.

În partea dreaptă, în câmp roşu, se află şase fascii undate orizontale, toate de aur.

În partea stânga, în câmp verde, se află două valţuri suprapuse, prin care trece o foaie orizontală, totul de aur.

Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Semnificaţiile elementelor însumate

Masivul muntos cu trei vârfuri reprezintă cele trei piscuri care străjuiesc comuna, şi anume Heniu Mic, Heniu Mare şi Muncelul.

Fasciile undate reprezintă simbolic industria locală - fabrica de radiatoare din Prundu Bârgăului.

Valţurile prin care trece o foaie de hârtie reprezintă fabrica de hârtie de la Prundu Bârgăului, care datează din anul 1768.

Coroana murală cu un turn crenelat semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de comună.
