| Description |
English: Since puuting this picture up I have had the pleasure of snapping two male Goldfinches at the same feeder. To see just who spectacular they are please visit my 'Garden Birds' set.
We have lived in our house at Redhill for 4 years now and never before have I seen a goldfinch in our garden. To be honest i cannot ever remember seeing one before so you can imagine my delight when a pair nested in our garden and raised a family. The male is truly spectacular but even the females and juveniles have bright bold yellow markings. They appear to be different from my other feeder visitors in being far less skittish. Once they have decided to feed they will stay for 30 seconds or more. Most other birds will hang about no more than 10 seconds. |
