Summary: Regina Flannery Herzfeld (1904-2004), one of the first female anthropologists in the United States, was a professor in the Department of Anthropology, Catholic University, 1935-1971. This photograph was taken at a National Academy of Sciences meeting, Spring 1935, three years before Flannery's marriage to physicist Karl Ferdinand Herzfeld (1892-1978).
