Summary[edit]

Description
English: Remains of a fortification wall (?) outside the Odeon of Herodes Atticus on the South Slope of the Acropolis. At the end of the line of stones are still visible the remains of a square tower (?). The Heruli pillaged Athens in 267 A.D. After their withdrawal, the Romans built a new fortification wall to protect the city. The damaged Odeon of Herodes Atticus was one of the edifices incorporated into the wall.
