Description
English: A steel car door is welded using remote laser welding, as part of an experiment in the Technology Strategy Board funded 'Remote Fibre Laser Welding Project', run by Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick. An externally generated laser beam is fed into the robot by the yellow cable behind and to the left of the robot. Lenses and mirrors in the robot's arm focus the beam at a target point, and the intense energy causes welding to occur.
