Description
English: Restored Church of the East painting found in Cave 17 at the Mokao Caves, Tunhwang. The original work dates back to the 9th century, during the Imperial Tibetan rule (787–848) and the Guiyi Era (848–1036) of Tunhwang. According to Dr. Buslig Szonja of Eötvös Loránd University and Prof. Lin Meicun of Peking University, the figure is a representation of Jesus Christ.
