Description

Postcard view of Rievaulx Abbey seen from Rievaulx Terrace, near Helmsley, North Yorkshire, England. This image demonstrates that the very steep edge or hanger of Rievaulx Terrace was wooded at the beginning of the 20th century, as it is in the 21st century. In the bottom right-hand corner of the image, the short grass on the top of the terrace can be seen.

The back is divided, so it was printed after 1902. It was printed in Saxony, so it was printed before 1914 when World War I started.
