| Description |
Riley's Snooker Hall, Stevenage, on 18 August 2014 before it was demolished later that year to make space for retirement homes. The building was built as Astonia Cinema in the 1930s (before Stevenage became a New Town) before becoming a bingo hall and eventually a snooker club. Residents tried to save the building but to no avail. I managed to photograph it after it closed but before it was lost. It was one of three 1930s cinemas remaining in Hertfordshire - now there are just two: The Rex in Berkhamstead and The Odyssey Cinema in St Albans, both of which have been restored to their former glory.
