Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The River Lapwing (Vanellus duvaucelii) is a charismatic bird species with a distribution spanning across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Southern China. Despite its historical prevalence, the population of River Lapwings is currently undergoing a decline, warranting a "Near Threatened" status according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This research investigates the factors contributing to this decline, highlighting the ecological importance of these monotypic lapwing species.
