Summary[edit]

Description
English: Contours of the Roche potential (equipotentials) in the orbital plane of a binary system of mass ratio q=10. The centres of mass of the two bodies are at the two dots. Also marked are the centre of mass and the Lagrange points, L1--L5. Contours are at equally spaced values of the potential between the value at the inner Lagrange point L1 and its maximum.
