| Description |
This little section of Rock Creek on the southern border of the zoo is one of my favorite places to walk because the path actually leaves Rock Creek Parkway (a busy road) for a bit. I almost always see deer, wood ducks, and mallards; often I see other interesting species like belted kingfishers, hawks, pileated woodpeckers, brown creepers, and nuthatches. In the summer night-herons are common. Once I saw a fox. |
