Description
Polski: Rodos, kościół grecko-prawosławny p.w. Matki Boskiej Lindos. Stan obecny, to świątynia bizantyńska z XIII wieku, niemniej pierwszy ze zbudowanych tu kościołów datowany jest na V wiek i zachowały się fragmenty jego fundamentów. Czynny liturgicznie obiekt, stanowi jednocześnie część podległego Ministerstwu Kultury i Turystyki Muzeum Kościelnego Lindos. Istny "Skarbiec Ikon" - polichromie zachwycają bogactwem motywów i ich wykonania. Zaciekawia cykl scen Sądu Ostatecznego oraz rzadkie w ikonografii przedstawienie Św. Krzysztofa, jako człowieka z głową psa. Najważniejsze części dekoracji tej świątyni prawosławnej powstały dzięki mecenatowi Wielkiego Mistrza Zakonu Ioannitów, rycerza D’Aubusson czyli, jak pokreślają to niektóre źródła greckie, są one zasługą heretyka.
