Rückseite: NATUS / BEROLINIIS / AN M DCC XII / OBIIT / AN M DCC LXXXVI / SERIES NUMISMATICA / UNIVERSALIS VIRORUM ILLUSTRIUM / M DCCC XLIV / DURAND EDIDIT [Geboren in Berlin 1712, gestorben im Jahre 1786, Numismatische Serien, das Leben bekannter Persönlichkeiten, 1844 von Durand verlegt]. Achtzeilige Aufschrift. Unten die Signatur des Verlegers. Kommentar: Die Darstellung des alten Königs in Uniform mit Dreispitz gehört zu den typischen Porträts, die nach dem Tode Friedrichs II. besonders im 19. Jahrhundert angefertigt wurden. Diese stellen wiederum die mehrfach kopierte Vorlage für Medaillen des 20. und auch 21. Jahrhunderts dar. Die Medaille stammt von dem französischen Medailleur Emile Rogat, der viele europäische Herrscher und bedeutende Persönlichkeiten porträtiert hat, vor allem für die Medaillenserien von Durand 'Series numismatica universalis virorum illustrum', die zwischen 1818 und 1846 verlegt wurden.
