| Description |
English: Painting by Roger Winter, Chisos Mountains, (oil on linen, 30” x 28”, 1986). The image illustrates the representational mode of expression Roger Winter began exploring in the mid-1970s, a style characterized by subtleties of surface, light, and form and the sense that they contain deeper meaning. Chisos Mountains depicts a female figure walking in the desert landscape of Big Bend National Park. This painting and similar works have been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums in the United States, discussed in a monograph and numerous press publications, and many have been acquired by major museums and prominent corporate and private collections. |
